SE1 Community Newspaper was a publication produced by members of the local community in North Southwark and Waterloo, London, UK, from 1975 to 1991. The paper aimed to represent community viewpoints outside those represented in mainstream local news, and to take a critical stand particularly on issues relating to development and regeneration.
The newspaper was published initially from July 1975 to March 1981 (issues 1-61), then after a short break it was relaunched in December 1981, running until the newspaper's closure in February 1991 (issues 1-86). The issues digitised here represent a complete run of the newspaper held by Southwark Archives, aside from the following missing issues: Nov 1985 (issue 37), Jun 1986 (issue 43), Dec 1986 (issue 48), Mar 1987 (issue 50), Apr 1987 (issue 51).
